Ship central air conditioning evaporator replacement service at Qingdao Beihai Shipyard, ensuring crew comfort and safe navigation for vessel owners.

As experienced seafarers, can you imagine such a tough scenario?
When a vessel is sailing for loading/discharging near the Malacca Strait or equatorial waters, if the accommodation air conditioning system breaks down:
intense sunlight raises deck temperature sharply, crews work sweating all over on open decks.
Inside the accommodation, high heat remains trapped — especially on the bridge, where continuous operation of navigation equipment generates extra heat.
The engine room crew also works closely beside the main engine under extreme thermal conditions.

In such a sweltering environment, crews fail to rest properly or maintain appetite, leading to fatigue, poor physical condition and low concentration.
This directly endangers navigation safety, putting crew lives, cargo and vessel assets at great risk.
Similarly, in cold sea areas, reliable heating for accommodation is critical for crew health and safe sailing.
That is why a fully functional central air conditioning system onboard is indispensable.

We, Qingdao Sealink Marine Service Co., Ltd, focus strictly on ship repair items that affect normal sailing at sea.
For this reason, we always attach high priority to ship air conditioning evaporator replacement services at major Chinese shipyards.
Even facing strict boarding procedures, tight vessel departure schedules, narrow operating spaces and inconvenient access, we always deliver the job with full dedication.

What we pursue is simple:
Guaranteed safe navigation for shipowners, and solid protection for our long-term accumulated reputation.
These are the core motivations driving our team forward.
All efforts invested in evaporator renewal are worthwhile, because we aim to eliminate hidden risks that threaten vessel safety and stable operation at sea.
Individual capability is limited, but teamwork makes every difficulty solvable.

PART 1:Standard Onboard Evaporator Replacement Workflow

  1. After vessel entry and boarding formalities, our technicians inspect the evaporator and confirm the repair plan with the ship’s team.
  2. Upon shipowner’s confirmation, our personnel board the vessel to dismantle and remove the old evaporator.
  3. A new custom evaporator is manufactured strictly according to the original model and dimensions.
  4. After production, we complete customs declaration, transportation, hoisting and professional onboard installation.
  5. The new evaporator includes bolt fastening, heater fixing, copper pipe routing and welding, ready for system testing.
  6. Nitrogen charging and pressure holding tests are done to check all welding points for leakage, with repeated confirmation of zero pressure drop.
  7. After nitrogen discharge, full vacuum pumping is performed. 40 kg refrigerant is charged for overall system commissioning with crew support.
  8. The whole system is tested with the ship’s chief engineer present throughout the process.
  9. Final system performance is fully approved by the ship’s technical team.

PART 2:Daily Maintenance Reminders

  1. Replace filter cotton regularly to ensure stable air quality and normal AC operation.
  2. Keep sufficient refrigerant onboard for emergency leakage replenishment.
  3. Maintain electric motors properly and stock easy-damaged spare parts in advance.
  4. Inspect square heaters frequently to avoid hidden damage or leakage.
  5. Do not set extreme temperatures during operation. Sudden large adjustments may cause pressure surge and damage the compressor
