When a vessel is sailing for loading/discharging near the Malacca Strait or equatorial waters, if the accommodation air conditioning system breaks down: intense sunlight raises deck temperature sharply, crews work sweating all over on open decks. Inside the accommodation, high heat remains trapped — especially on the bridge, where continuous operation of navigation equipment generates extra heat. The engine room crew also works closely beside the main engine under extreme thermal conditions.

PART I: Standard Onboard Evaporator Replacement Work flow

1. After completing vessel entry and boarding formalities, our professional technicians inspect the onboard evaporator, confirm site conditions, and finalize the repair plan together with the ship's technical team. 

2. Upon shipowner's confirmation, our personnel board the vessel to dismantle and remove the old evaporator. 

3. A brand-new custom evaporator is manufactured strictly according to the original model and dimensional parameters. 

4. Once production is finished, we complete customs declaration, arrange transportation to the shipyard, and coordinate hoisting and onboard installation with professional technicians present.

5. The new evaporator undergoes full installation, including bolt fastening, heater fixing, copper pipe routing and welding, preparing the system for functional testing

6. Nitrogen charging and pressure holding tests are conducted to inspect all welding points for leakage. Repeated verification ensures no pressure drop and zero welding leakage. 

7. After nitrogen discharge, full vacuum pumping is performed. With the vessel crew's assistance in starting fans and air-conditioning units, 40 kg of refrigerant is charged for overall system commissioning. 

8. The whole system runs under formal operational testing, accompanied and verified by the vessel's chief engineer throughout the process. 

9. Final system performance is fully recognized and approved by the ship's technical management team.

PART II: Kindly remind to ship during such evaporator renewing operation on board

·  Replace filter cotton regularly to ensure stable air quality & AC performance

·  Keep sufficient refrigerant onboard for emergency leakage refill

·  Maintain electric motors properly and stock vulnerable spare parts

·  Inspect square heaters frequently to avoid hidden damage or leakage

·  Avoid extreme temperature settings during air conditioner operation. Do not adjust the temperature sharply; otherwise, the system pressure may rise suddenly and cause compressor failure.
