Maintenance of Ship Power System: The Core of Maintaining Navigation Power
Hits: 985 Time: 2025.03.11
The power system of a ship is the "heart" of the ship's navigation, including the main engine, auxiliary engine, transmission device, etc. Its performance directly affects the ship's navigation speed and stability. Therefore, the maintenance of the power system is particularly important.
As the core of the power system, the main engine needs regular comprehensive inspection and maintenance. It is necessary to check whether the fuel system, lubrication system, and cooling system of the main engine are working normally. The fuel filter and lubricating oil filter should be replaced regularly to prevent impurities from entering the main engine and causing component wear. At the same time, attention should be paid to the operating parameters of the main engine, such as speed, temperature, pressure, etc. If any abnormality is found, the machine should be shut down in time for inspection and troubleshooting.
Auxiliary engines mainly provide electricity, compressed air, etc. for the ship, and their maintenance cannot be ignored. Generators should be regularly subjected to load tests to ensure that they can operate stably under different loads. The valve, piston and other parts of the air compressor should be checked for wear, and vulnerable parts should be replaced in time to ensure sufficient supply of compressed air and stable pressure.
The transmission device connects the main engine and the propeller and is responsible for transmitting the power of the main engine to the propeller. The focus of its maintenance is to check the meshing and wear degree of gears, bearings and other parts, and add lubricating oil regularly to reduce friction and improve transmission efficiency.
